Summary
I am working toward my MD/PhD (Neuroscience) at Wayne State University. I received my M.S. in Biotechnology and my B.A. in Cognitive Science and Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University.
I am currently researching the effects of trauma on substance use as well as the ethical implications of emerging neurotechnologies and addiction neuroethics. My previous research has been in public health and addiction. My main foci surround addiction and mental illness from a variety of perspectives.
I am interested in exploring the links between addiction of various sorts, mental illness, and early life trauma. Through understanding these links we should be able to develop targeted interventions for individuals struggling with addiction. Through my work in the brain sciences, public health, and medical fields I have also developed a passion for neuroethics and bioethics. My involvement in these fields included research into addiction, consciousness, and moral responsibility.
